Geoff is the named shareholder who began the firm in 1997. Geoff began practicing in 1981 and has tried over 150 trials to judgment.
Geoff represents a mixture of individuals and business organizations involved in any facet of a dispute. He also maintains a general practice (excluding workers compensation claims and criminal defense). Geoff's main practice is in the area of commercial dispute resolution, with a special emphasis on homeowners association, construction disputes and commercial work.
Geoff was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and has, with the exception of the years in college and four years of service on active duty in the United States Army, been a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, all of his life. Geoff obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 1978 and went on to attend law school at the University of Florida College of Law, graduating in 1981. While at the University of Florida, Geoff was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Sigma Chi fraternity, Phi Kappa Phi and Florida Blue Key. He was president of Florida Blue Key in 1980 – 1981. Geoff was the student body Director of Elections at the University of Florida. He holds an inactive Certified Public Accountant certificate from the State of Florida, which he received on May 15, 1981.
While in law school, Geoff maintained his active membership in Florida Blue Key, was a law clerk for different law firms, was an active member of the United States Army Reserve and served as a graduate assistant teaching undergraduate students in basic accounting courses at the University of Florida School of Accounting. After law school, Geoff served on active duty with the United States Army from January 1982 through January 1986, serving in Heilbronn, West Germany, in the Judge Advocate General Corp. He served two years as a prosecutor and two years as a defense attorney.
Following release from active duty, Geoff returned to the practice of law in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, where he became a partner in two different firms before starting his own firm in 1997. Geoff is admitted to practice in all state courts in the State of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal 11th Circuit, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Court of Military Appeals, and the Court of Military Review. He has been a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association since 1986. Geoff has served as Chairman for the Jacksonville Bar Association commercial litigation section and was a seminar lecturer and a materials author for the Jacksonville Bar Association. He has served on the Florida Bar grievance committee for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida from 1994 through 1997.
Geoff lives in Jacksonville with his wife. He has two adult daughters and one adult son.
